My uncle was in there 17 days. The care and food were horrible most of the time. One night he only had a piece of pizza that looked like card board and a cup of fruit. They never gave him the drink he wanted and we always had to have them bring something else. One day he did not get breakfast or lunch. A friend that was there went and asked for him to get some food. Call lights were not answered for hours especially at night. Until we complained he was never got up on the bedside commode and he could do this. Very understaffed at night. I am truly saddened by all this and it makes me feel like crying. He called his daughter on several occasions and she had to come in to help with the urinal. No one would answer the phone at the facility. He had no bath until day 17 when we removed him. He was totally independent before his fall and surgery and he was there to rehab to return home. They used most of his skilled days and he was no closer to being able to return home. They were going to begin charging $500.00 per day on private pay the day we removed him. Other places were much cheaper. This man is sharp as a tack and knows what is going on. He received no Occupational Therapy until a few days before we removed him. Physical Therapy was okay but not enough to get him independent. He was left lying in urine and bowel for 4 hrs one day. His daughter was there. No recliners in any of the rooms we saw. There were some good staff there, but if no family had been around to notice, he would have never returned home. After one week at the place we took him to on day 17, he is now walking over 185 ft with a walker, doing ramps, mostly dressing himself and will be going to his daughters in a few days until a ramp is built at his home.
